I'm going straight to the Mangreen on Thursday evening, so will meet up at the pub at lunchtime Friday for the run.

Re: ANNOUNCING THE WINTERBOTTOM RUN 2022
Thanks to everyone for the great company and especially Richard for organising it. Lots of miles with no problems for John Vaughan and I and it was a very enjoyable break.

Ps, I really need to get my aircon fitted.

Gutted I couldn't make it at all in the end. I was still logged on and working past 6pm on Friday, that nice early finish didn't happen.

Re: ANNOUNCING THE WINTERBOTTOM RUN 2022
Indeed a very enjoyable trip, thank you all that made it happen and joined in. After CTL went onto the factory gate for the inevitable photo, then onto Ketteringham Hall for tea and then Kings Lynn to stay Saturday evening. Drove it over to Staffordshire yesterday, via lunch in Stamford, now working for a couple of days, plus a student house to clean up before back home to Kent with it on Thursday. Will be the best part of another 1000 miles of 'Elite Grand Touring' ...

Piccie time
Cars starting to gather near Newmarket :
Cars at the 'king Shed ... Sorry - Kings Head ( The word must have been out that business could be brisk this weekend ):
Almost ready to depart - No breakdown truck in site
And at the mid run Ice cream Break ( Oxburgh Hall - in the shade )

Re: ANNOUNCING THE WINTERBOTTOM RUN 2022
And now to add my thanks to all for making it a truly memorable weekend. Special mention to Richard for doing the leg work and Bash' daughter for the stickers - Great individual touch. Also Bryan for the "just in case Coil" and Alan for diagnostics for point 2 below. - Team work is dream work, or so they say.
Other than the meets, chats and visits, my car wasn't on best behaviours this weekend. They say things come in 3's and I can confirm they do:
1 - A few days before, throttle cable broke, too late to get a replacement, so a creative solution was needed.
2 - Saturday morning, the spark gremlin came out to play. He was defeated, and a little more was learnt about the problem, but route cause still unknown.
3 - Then on the homeward journey we had a RHOTI - Returned Home On Trailer Incident - Will be investigating tomorrow, but lost power steering, then the belt broke and water temp obviously started to climb as water pump not turning - Good news is I caught that in time. - More tomorrow after a gander.
I won't forget the weekend in a hurry - (Nor will Mrs D - As if she needed another reason to believe every journey in a Lotus is journey into the unknown ).
Thanks again to all for a great weekend - Roll on the next one.
Tony

Re: ANNOUNCING THE WINTERBOTTOM RUN 2022
Sharon and I would like to add our thanks to all those involved with organising this weekend and making it so special - Richard, Simon Freebrey, Tony Donnelly, the Bash family (for the rally plates), and the irrepressible Richard Parramint at Classic Team Lotus. It really was a trip to remember, and despite the heat, the car performed faultlessly. It was a pleasure to meet up with friends old and new. Highlight of the trip for me was arriving 4 up in the Excel to the Mangreen for the evening meal - Andy and Maria squeezed in the back! It was what these cars were made for and Ollie would have loved it...
Gilks Garage Cafe - a great place for food and a drink, near Stratford upon Avon. And what were the chances of sitting down next to a complete stranger, who looked out at our car and said "I've got one of those!"

4 up going back to the Mangreen!
