Just a quick update on our 'Excel anniversary' idea.

I've emailed Club Lotus with the general details of our idea and asked what would be involved/what help we could get etc.

Initially it seems very well received

although the contents of my email have been passed to a couple of other people within Club Lotus.

I'm just waiting for another reply.

Will keep you all informed.

Hello again everyone, apologies for my recent absence.

I received the following email from Alan at Club Lotus today:-

Hi Mick
Sorry for the delay in replying to your email of 30th March. As you might know, we moved office after Donnington and BT managed to cause chaos by not connecting us for some weeks and we're still catching up.

I think promoting the Excel is a brilliant idea-especially as I'm about to buy one. It's a very underrated car and I'll be writing about owning and driving one throughout the year.

If you can organise the Excel forum members I'm more than happy to allocate a special display at Donnington next year. We could even organise a special Excel meet during the next summer if we can find a convenient location. Club Lotus will always support and help you promote such an event and possibly donate a prize or two on the day.Talk it through with your fellow owners and let me know what you want to do.

Who's willing to help/donate their car for the weekend.

Any Idea's on the stand/material for the stand.

I'll have to find out from Alan exactly what Club Lotus can offer as help, but at the moment this looks very promising.
