Body shops

Post by Sparrow »

Hello All,

So i have been thinking about having the Lovely Lotus fully resprayed and brought back to her glory. I am based in Oxfordshire but happy enough to travel to the right shop. If there is any body shops you would recommend that know how to look after these cars and paint and repair fibreglass bodies.

Regards,

Nick

HI Nick,

I would recommend Option 1 Sportscars in Bromsgrove. Superb.

If you don't mind travelling as far as Northamptonshire, you could try the guy I used for my respray last year. Details are all in this thread.

I was happy with the work he did - looks very good, but I'll accept not quite Pebble Beach-worthy. Price was very reasonable, reflective of the fact that it's one bloke working out of a paint shop converted from a barn in the middle of the countryside, so doesn't have the overheads, advertising, VAT etc. of a bigger organisation.

He probably wouldn't do yours for what he quoted for mine (at least I hope not), I think it turned out to be a lot more prep work than he'd anticipated and he put in a LOT of hours. He was honest and stuck to the price he quoted anyway, but I ended up paying him a bit extra 'cos I reckoned he deserved it for the work he'd put in.
