BOOT LIGHT?

Post by CHAPMANLOT »

I have a 89 WHite Excel (Monaco White... is it?) I cant see the boot light - where is it - nothing comes on at night.... there is a switch under the right boot hinge which depresses when closed - so it must be fitted somewhere.

Im only just learning about cars - so please be patient...

The boot lamp is located beside the lock catch mechanism in the centre of the boot wall (not the lid, the other bit). Probably just needs a new bulb, but may also be a blown fuse.

Also check the boot light switch which on mine is located by the hinge mechanism on the driver's side. They have been known to stick/malfunction.

cool - I can see the switch - it moves ok - but I'll check it again when I've looked at the lamp - I spent 10 mins looking for the light fitting - blast...

Purchased lamp bulb -75p - replaced bulb - refitted lamp and housing... light works fine...

A powerful lamp though.. wondered if it was drawing too much juice...
then I realised i was suffering from amateur dabbler syndrome...

Lets hope its JOB DONE!
