Mice can squeeze through incredibly small gaps and can be pretty destructive as they'll eat absolutely anything (eg electrical insulation, leather, carpet).

I've found peanut butter to be an excellent bait for mousetraps. Forget cheese - they just nick it off the trap & eat it elsewhere.

this may sound strange but try using chocolate as the bait in the trap.

I always keep some mouse poison on trays around the inner walls of the garage to keep the sods out. A nieghbour with a Volvo S70 got mice who had a taste for the wiring loom, the insurance bill ran well into 4 figures !
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

The mouse is no more, peanut butter did the trick. I am still having trouble finding how it was getting in and out of the car. It had started making a nest behind the dash but must have been getting in and out to eat. Can a mouse can live live on Lotus alone!
