Ah I see! A Geely mobile.
Won't be long before Lotus is doing something similar with an SUV.
Keeps it in the family.

I honestly thought you'd purposely made an inspired choice!
A happy accident none the less!

Used to work on Volvos in the 1980's. The red block engines are bomb proof.

the volvo redblock is amazingly tuneable too.
Re: Best brakes to fit on (or inside) standard wheels
If you were talking about front brakes on an Eclat/Elite then I'd suggest 4 pot Subaru calipers on Citroen Xantia V6 (283x 26mm) discs like I've done -

Absolutely nothing!!
As a new forum member - welcome by the way - you won't be aware of my V8 past! Photo shows 490hp V8 in my Excel.
Following your project on TLF with interest.

It was more than excellent. The clamshell front end was stunningly amazing.
Nothing is fool proof. Fools are clever!
Re: Best brakes to fit on (or inside) standard wheels
I thought about chopping the front end about but wasn't sure how much the shell adds strength to the chassis once bolted together tbh? Mine's pretty much as Lotus intended.

Re: Best brakes to fit on (or inside) standard wheels
I nearly commented after Pete's post and Photo that the car was one wing short of a set.
I came to the forum too late to have followed that project, so I need to read up on it. Where's the car now?

Engine/gearbox probably in an M3 track car by now somewhere on the south coast. Body and the rest up in Scotland - not all with the same person!
