Nice-looking SE for sale on The Market

Post by TrevorK »

Came across this 1988 SE on The Market web site this evening https://themarket.bonhams.com/en/listin ... tatus=live

Looks in vey good condition but, I think, would need recommissioning as it has sat for so long. Estimated to fetch between £10,000 and £17,000.
What car is that?

Oops! Of course it is. Which makes it even better for many.

I did see that the timing belt was historic. The description refers to the car being driven on the motorway to the auction base so they were lucky to get away with it. It does suffer from typical low-mileage syndeome where the body and interior look nice but the mechanicals need a once over.

I agree, Low miles puts me off a car as you know it's not been used and everything will need a good look over.

Guide price between £10 & £17k.
Could be a decent buy at £10k for a handy DIYer, based on its low mileage, but when it needs a full set of tyres, A/C reconditioning, timing belt and the inevitable once over based on being stood so long, I can't see it fetching more.

Looks like it's got a reserve around £10k.
(says "reserve close").
Haven't seen it, but based on description, I think 10 is a good price for both parties.
