Have always liked the dark green cars. Reminds me of the one in Howard's Way.
Don't personally like the dark dash top. Though I imagine it's to banish reflections. Looks well done though.

Does anyone know if this car sold? I was interested in bidding but couldn't get up to the NE to have a look at the car before the auction ended.

Same photos in the advert.
Suggests to me it didn't sell in the auction and someone's trying a different route.

20.000 miles or 120.000 miles?
Pity to see saddle cam covers painted red and why a double capped coolant reservoir?
Dave the cog.

Re: Auction house in Newcastle upon Tyne
MOT History shows mileage to be correct ...
Could somebody have bid then backed out ??

Re: Auction house in Newcastle upon Tyne
Not so sure.
When my speedo was changed for a secondhand VDO with ~6,500 miles already on the clock, my MOT guys subsequently recorded mileages read directly off the new clock even though they knew it was a replacement for the original clock that had recorded a true 50K-ish miles. In other words, the true mileage was about ~58K at the time of the MOT, but they recorded the mileage (~8k-ish IIRC) showing on the new clock, and have done ever since.
I guess they take the attitude that it is not their responsibility to verify the true mileage of a car as they wish to take no part in clever deceptions that they haven't the time to investigate?

Re: Auction house in Newcastle upon Tyne
On line mileage pretty irrelevant on this age car as if it went over the 100,000 before the electronic MOT records started and then done very low mileage since then it could appear low mileage.
Also, anyone noticed the price now gone up 2k as he is “sorting” the paint. Probably a £500 trade quality blow over of affected areas.

Looking at the wear on the drivers seat it must have done more than 20k
Cheers, Phil

Re: Auction house in Newcastle upon Tyne
I suspect it's had a new / rebuilt engine at some point. Whether it's the high compression engine or just a paint job is another thing.
I wish I'd gone to look at it when it was up for auction. £6K was tempting. £8K not so much given the sketchy history.
