Post by Valley Boy »

Wanted for my 1987 Excel SE

A pair of Cream Leather Front & Rear Seats or any combination of these.
If I could get a good condition Rear Seat then that too would be good.
Run anything you may have past me.
Any Condition Considered.
Thanks in advance

Hope you get what you want but they rarely come up and if they do it will over 4 figures.

LotusBits have a container full of old Lotus seats. Mostly fairly crummy. Still, it may be worth a rummage if you can make it over there. I had a rifle through when I broke the drivers' seat frame on my car, I found one with the wrong (and worn) fabric but I mixed and matched the best bits from my seat and this one to make a good one.

Or get your seats re-covered. I found a nice bloke near Leicester who did mine, £1350 for the labour to do all 4 seats, I provided the fabric and leather (my seats are not full leather). See this thread.

Thanks for that.
I am aware of LotusBits and I think this may be my best option to get the front seats. Sadly, I cant just pop round to see them as I live in Kent and they are up near Coventry.
My Excel has MX5 front seats and the previous owner gave away the original front seats!
Once I get the frames they will need re-covering in leather. The work that your guy in Leicester has done looks exceptionally good. Very keen hourly rate too.
I will keep you informed.
Best wishes and thanks again,
Valley Boy

I had thought of XJS seats - I think this has been noted on this Forum.
Trying to find a half decent pair is the challenge.
I am on the lookout for a pair via as many avenues I can think of tho.
Thanks for your thoughts.
