Dash Wood Veneers

Post by Dwaynem884 »

Threw my old veneers up on eBay. I got new ones from LB. Might be of use to someone here given the price of the new ones. "Professionally Restored" during the PO's reign. They're rough but definitely usable.

Came off my 92 SE, not an expert in wood but I presume burl elm.

Can’t quite tell from photos - are they warped or is the surface completely flat.
Are they squashed/ depressed where the screws go?

Not too worried about the veneer, I can redo that, but need a flat panel as mine are badly warped.

I'll get a look at this evening hopefully, and get a few more photos showing it better.

Just checked, not bad but not perfect either. I'll put photos up on ebay now

Thanks, I did have a look, but a little too warped. Think I may have to get some remade.

I can let you have the dimensions for positions and size of holes. Not easy to drill that accurately though. The sets I made do fit, but aren't 100% fit around the dials.

Thanks Tony.

I have the 2 original sets for the cars. Might try and find somewhere that can accurately copy them. I’ll then veneer them and spray a couple of coats of clear coat over them.
If/when I find somewhere, might see if others want to buy some they can veneer/paint/wrap as they choose.
Might not be until 2024 though with the speed of my rebuild!!
