Does anyone know any alternative part numbers, Gates etc, for a pre 85MY low compression, non A/C car. From the parts catalogue they are different to those used on the 86MY on.
Alternator belt is A907E6315F
Water pump is A912E6587F
Thanks

Re: Vee belts alternative parts for pre 85 LC engine.
Thanks Stu, those are the belts for the later engine, low and high compression which I have spares of.
The water pump belt changed for 85MY on and the water pump belt changed for MY 86 on. I’m looking for the belts for the pre 85 engine. The parts catalogue and SJS both show the belts for the pre 85 low compression engine as different with different part numbers as in my initial post. I don’t know how much of, and what the difference is, I assume length as the crank pulley is the same for all years.

Is it the water pump pulley size that creates the difference? Are they different?

I don’t really know what causes the difference as the water pump pulley, crank pulley and power steering pump pulleys are all the same, but the water pumps are different, so maybe it puts the shaft for the pulley in a slightly different position?Pete Boole wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 11:54Is it the water pump pulley size that creates the difference? As to the alternator, they and the adjustment strap is different between the two engines so I guess that will be why a different length.
I was just trying to get a service kit together in advance of picking the car up so I can get straight onto it.
I’ll have a look at the car on the weekend when I’ve got it.
