Tescos 99 wins shoot out

Post by steveefitboy »

I found this on Pistonheads, technical evidence that seams to agree with the conclusions of the forum. I must now find whether my nearest Tesco 6 miles away has the stuff. :D

BP do a 102ron fuel but it seems only to be available in 6 or so stations in the south from their website furthest north is Milton Keynes.

Have used 2/3 of a tank of Tesco 99 and to be honest did not feel any difference to the optimax - will allow tank to get lower and try out new V Power and see .

Careful on the bio fuels guys, I have heard you need to change 'O' rings and rubber pipes for the Tesco stuff. The British Rally Masters series is sponsored by Tesco fuels and they suggest that you have to do some work with the plumbing.

While ethanol does have rubber swell characteristics it is not the only constituant present that does.

Any of the aromatics that have been added or seen increased levels will also contibute.

Gonna try some 40% ethanol now. Imported from the Glen of Tranquility.
