Which Oil Filter?

Belts, Plugs, Filters, Fuels, Oils, additives etc..... Told you this might morph into servicing and service items.

Which Oil Filter?

Post by Excel_Esprit »

Hi,

I have read contrasting views on which oil filter for my '89 SE.
Usually I would opt for the genuine Lotus one but have been told that some of the cheaper Halfrauds filters still have the return valve?

Can anyone point me in the right direction as the exactly which filter would be sufficent, I plan to change it regulary anyway.

Thanks in advance.

Down here I use a Ryco Z89A which has many applications, two being Cortina (Mk3 and beyond), Lancia, Alfetta, Range Rover V8 and a whole host of others. Provided it's got the no return valve, you can probably use any equivalent to this type.

The original Lotus one looks nice but I don't see whay I should pay more for what is probably no better in quality terms.

Order genuine Lotus filter from SJ.

Well, you gotta try one sometime.

That a some Texaco 15/50 should see her alright for a few months.
