Hi,
When I press my horn button, I've just a sound like "mmmm" from front side where the air hon compressor is located.
But, I don't know when can I to access at this part.

Re: To access to air horn compressor
Sounds like the compressor outlet pipe might have popped off. Pretty inaccesible from memory, I think the Excel production line might have started with an air horn compressor and they assembled everything else around it.
You could try taking out the closest headlight pod, or the cowling underneath the radiator..others may have a more recent recollection of how to get at it

Re: To access to air horn compressor
On mine - the compressor is in the headlamp pod and the horns are in front of the radiator.
Access to the compressor is possible with the headlamp bowl removed, but easier with the whole pod out.

Re: To access to air horn compressor
I had the same Hmmmmp from mine due to lack of use by previous owner (oil rigger).
Fixed it about 4 or 5 years ago with wD40 squirted down the air tubes combined with repeated horn operation....still works great today...although the horns are more "Noddy" than "We've got ourselves a convoy!".
Got to it when I did my EWP conversion with the radiator under tray removed. Hand up to pipes from underneath and pull them off. Simples.

Re: To access to air horn compressor
My horns were very weak so I bought a replacement kit from Halfords and by swapping bits round found it was the horns that had packed up - due to corrosion I think.
The horns are held in place by bolts that slot into the side of horn and go through a bracket bolted to the upper radiator duct. Unless you have the arms of an octopus I don't think you can get the bracket off without removing the upper duct, but if you take the lower radiator duct off you can slacken the nuts on the horn mounting bolts and slide them off the bolt heads - the new ones go back on the same way.
Sounds much better now!
And I've got a spare compressor.

Re: To access to air horn compressor
I did that on the Esprit,. the old metal horn were knackered, so I used the old (much heavier duty) compressor, and it now gives a much louder blast then either system would have done when new.

Like i said, try WD 40 through the tubes to the horns first......

Re: To access to air horn compressor
I renewed mine with a kit from halfords and the whole lot fitted inside the headlamp pod, horns as well, so if it goes wrong its a lot easier to get to
