never fiddle before a track day
SO I did fiddle. I noticed the F ducts are split on the carbs, so I thought with no chance of getting new ones in time I taped up the split. No trouble..
SO now the revs at idle are very unpredictable ranging from normal to 2000rpm. Could it be the little device( its a temperature switch I think) at the other end of the ducting has failed and the split in the piping sort of happened together and now I just have full choke . Its a right pain just days before castle combe , urgent advise please gents
Cheers
Pete

What do you mean by 'F' ducts? Are we talking about the vacuum pipes?

The rubber pipes fitted on top of the carbs , I guess it’s vacuum or reducers air flow, until it warms up

If you can get it to Castle Combe I can bring some pipe with me.

Re: never fiddle before a track day
I was thinking of leaving home just before 09:00, and I am only two miles from Pete, so shall I swing by your place and we go in convoy? From there across to the A34, down to the M4, should get to CC 10:30.

Yes I remember your lane Pete, so I'll drive slowly down the lane until I see your car on your driveway. If we leave yours at 09:00 then we should pass under Junc 15 of M4 (Swindon East, after Membury Services) about 10:00 so Hawaiis0 can join us. Not sure of the logistics of how he intends to do that, there doesn't seem to be a convenient layby on or near the intersection. Perhaps one of us phones him when we are 5 minutes away?
