I'm struggling to get my car to run smoothly and I think its due to a carb issue.
I've followed the normal way to set the float level, but came across the following site:

Has anyone used this method?
I've checked my fuel level and its well below the 27mm described...

Re: Dellorto DHLA 45 Float Level
I'm not sure what car you have, but Lotus Spec 9 (LC excel) is 15mm, I'm not sure what he is measuring at 27mm in the guide, but you should measure from the actuation point of the valve, not from its full travel.
Some books also advocate 15mm as the "default" dellorto setting. I did see a posting on another forum that suggested earlier specs were 17mm.
A knowledgeable friend showed me how to set mine up using a pretty similar methodology to that described and we set it to 15mm. It was running like a pig and its now tickety boo...
