I came accross an old article in Club Lotus News 1985 Issue 2 written by Graham Arnold

Graham was no fool, he knew how to spin (and how to subtly cheat by fitting uprated engines in press cars)! Sadly, Colin let him go, but Graham could also sell Graham, so he got a second term as sales director, IIRC.
