Does anyone have any of the original hard black rubber with foam backing sound deadening material available - possibly after changing to more modern sound insulation?

Sorry, can't help you Alan, but there is a guy on the other forum who is restoring an Elite and has found almost the exact same stuff, but new. If you want I can contact him to find out where he got it from - or are you trying to retain originality?

Yes please, would be interested if it’s a close match.
What I’m trying to do is restore the engine bay, and there is a section of just the rubber backing without the foam that covers the “turret” that has the servo and coil mounted to.
I would also like to replace some sections of the floor insulation like for like.

Apparently it's from SJ's. Part number SJ075V0004. Looks expensive though - works out about £52 per square metre. I think the stuff over the pedal box area is different though - thicker with a fibrous backing.
