I guess we’ll be able to see whether that is a good or bad decision for the end customer over the next year or so. Hopefully not. Better that it doesn’t just disappear though so fingers crossed.

Interesting. Fair enough that Paul has to retire at some stage. Classic Team Lotus is a very different sort of business to Paul Matty, other than a love of Lotus I can't see that they really have much in common, so I hope Clive and his team have the understanding of how to run a business like this. They are based a very long way apart, so will CTL leave them where they are and let them largely run themselves, using the existing staff, or is the plan to relocate the business to Norfolk where CTL can keep a closer control? Will the Paul Matty brand continue? It'll be interesting to see how all this develops, but none of these questions are addressed in that article.

Ah-ha - just had a look on the Paul Matty website. On the Parts page it states that "Our parts department is for sale as a whole, all patterns and stock etc…
A lovely lifestyle business built up over 46 years. Interested parties please contact Paul direct ... Car Sales to continue". Doesn't say anything about the workshop. So I guess CTL have bought the parts business, car sales maybe remains as is until existing stock is sold?, the future of the workshop remains unclear.

It's rarely a good thing for a customer as similar companies buying each other.
No competition no price battle...
