Endoscopes for mechanical inspection.

Post by DavidOliver »

I am looking to buy an endoscope for examining those mechanical parts that previously meant serious dismantling to investigate.
Therefore what experience do Forum members have and what recomendations/sources are made?
Also any bad experiences with equipment which never worked and no guarantee of a refund.

If you have a smartphone there are cheap endoscopes, £8, on ebay that attach to them and are very handy for viewing impossible to get to places, and you can photograph or video to have a look at on a larger computer screen. Need to check compatibility of phone with scope.

I bought one of those cheap as chips phone cameras to look inside the petrol tank.
Not great. Best described as marginally better than nothing. I think problem was that the was not enough light by the LED around the lens.
I'll look it out later and maybe post a couple of images if I can.
