Happy Christmas

Post by richardw »

Happy Christmas everybody!

In the spirit of the season, here is an old Lotus Christmas card that was given to the cliub by Oliver's family. A really interesting historical item:

The observant among you will see where our club logo comes from!

I do believe Phil Tanser posted another copy of the card a while ago, but this one has Oliver's signature.

Cheers, Richard

Merry Christmas to all from this side of the pond! Hope it's warmer over there this morning- I woke up to 3 degrees F (-16C for most off you! 😉)

Interesting that the Excel is labeled as an '82 when it has flared fenders and the Speedline wheels that didn't come out until '85.

'All I want for Christmas is a quieter diff, at least I've made it onto the lift, a good start point for some new year action'.

Looking at the Christmas card there is a model which I believe never reached production, bottom right hand one.
Who knows what it is?
In Oliver´s book there is some mention perhaps?

I think the bottom right car is the Lotus M90/X100 prototype. :)

I’m pretty sure that’s the Giugiaro Etna concept.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all!

...and I think Allan's right about the picture being an Etna - here's a shot of one from the 1984 NEC motor show:
