Engine very slow to return to idle on my SA etc

Ive disconnected the throttle cable and the issue of a slow return to idle is still there.
Doing some research there is reference to possible air leaks on the vacume tubes. There is a Peter K's reference to this and refering to the thermal air bleed valve in a forum chat in 2018. Ive down loaded Peters service notes re this.
In this forum there is als a reference to a topic "For All SA Owners" ive looked for this but cannot find it so can some one point me in the right direction to nfind this please as I to have an auto gearbox reluctance to behave.
Thanks in advance

Do you have any easy start?
Start the engine and squirt it at various bits of the vacuum, manifold gaskets, etc. If it comes with a straw for more precise squirting, use that.
If the engine behaviour changes (increases revs or stumbles) then you've found your leak.

Ive sent for some easy start.
Decided to take off airbox while waiting only to find the Purge Pump have been removed. Is this a big issue and does its absence effect the running issues I have?

The purge pump would only affect a hot restart.
When you removed the air box, was there a long return spring from the carbs connected to the box via a split pin?

That will sort your return out then!
Yep - call usual suspects for one.

Sounds like i should have the Purge Pump to avoid petrol station pergatory the.
Looks like I can get a purge pump from SL for £77 but missing one of the brackets. The "L" shaped bracket is still mounted on the body but the one to hold the pump is missing so could some one send me a photo of the purge pump installed so I can make up a bracket. Ill need to get some resilient mounts but that should be easy on line.

I've only got the L bracket on my car.

Two rubber isolators fix the pump directly to it (came off eBay). Will post a picture later when on PC

Here's picture of the purge pump and mount on my car. The pitch on the pump is the same as the holes on the angle bracket. Two M6 isolation bushes and it's mounted.
Parts list does show another bracket, Item 21, A089U1750K, but I can't see how it mounts. The "suck" pipe from the air box would need to pass through it and I can't see any hole. Be interested if anyone else has this and can post picture. There's a tab towards the bulb head to fix something to, but what ?

The pumps are a pretty easy repair. New 12V motor available on Ebay for only a couple of pounds so I wouldn't worry too much about condition of any second hand part LB may have available.

Thanks Tony.
That looks simple.
Ill look at a second hand unit and rebuild to see what the difference is to a new one.

My carb linkage set up isnt like yours as its an SA and has accellorator, cruise control etc linked soI cannot find anything to put the spring onto.
Stu
Yours is an SA so does yours have this long spring and if so how does it connect to the linkage?
I have the split pin linkage on the airbox but that might mean nothing
