Re: Rover V8 build log
Its not come yet.... But, it should handle the actual fitting but the pipe looks like there is a large gap to the beadlock fitting, my aircon pipes are fairly snug into the fitting before any crimping. I will take a photo tomorrow.

The rubber pipe sort of fills the beadlock fitting before its crimped.

Yeah, yours definitely looks right (and a very neat job you've done there too).
I'm going to source new ferules for the 3/8 hose. Yet another delay!

Cheers, Im trying to keep it very tidy, aircon installations rarely look aesthetic but needs must. The pipe fittings are a headache though.

Guess what? Evri 'lost' it, which seems to happening on an industrial scale. Thier security must be crap. But they will probably have trousered the postage money anyway so don't seem to care.
So, I'm now waiting for another one.......don't hold your breath.

Quelle surprise
They lost a parcel with car parts in for me, turned up left on my doorstep three months later with no apologies, notification or anything.

Got my money back through ebay so another on order. These delivery companies need sorting out, they get paid no matter if they lose it or not, if its lost its the retailer that pays or someone else in the supply chain, then any items that are not delivered etc are sent to auction houses by the carrier for sale and the profits trousered ( thats if the staff dont get it first).

Re: Rover V8 build log
Im trying to do this on my phone so bear with.... This tool only cost £69 but it seems ok although the bigger fittings require alot of grunt on the spanner. The tool has 4 different pipe sizes that just clip in, its then folded over the fitting and pinned closed prior to clamping. A proper pipe cutter is essential as it stops bits getting in the system and the pipe and fitting needs orientation marks cos the pipes are quite stiff and you cant twist them.

Wow! That's not going to blow off! Worth the wait in the end and you'll save time and a small fortune not depending upon pros to make hoses.

Re: Rover V8 build log
Thanks for the comments dudes, I am trying to make it look like it could have been factory fitted which is time consuming but I think its worth it. I did all the ac lines today and finished the wiring off. The radiator/condenser/ fans assembly was also fitted with some extra support brackets for the weight that are screwed through the inlet duct and into the front diaphragm boards. I renewed the diaphragms while I was waiting for bits. I am starting to see the big pile of bits getting smaller.
