Rolls Royce retrimmed car project

Post by camyug »

I thought this might happen!

2 years after starting my project Excel, building a high spec engine for supercharging, a 6 speed conversion, sourcing parts to build a Truetrac diff etc, etc, etc.....

....I'm now moving abroad for long periods at a time and will no longer have any garage/barn space to store it! :(

It has the most stunning interior, as it was retrimmed by a Rolls Royce specialist at a cost of over £6000! It's two tone grey, grey and very light grey that is nearly white. A mix of leather and alcantara(synthetic suede).I have the bills. They're scary!

It smells brand new.

It's done in the style of a Ferrari 308, so the panels and lines are straighter than the Lotus approach of louch comfy sofa with tweed and velour.

I fitted a 60's style racing steering wheel. All the gauges are still there, but I took them out to change the back panels as they were carbon fibre look which I wasn't crazy about. I think it needs a quilted black leather panel with Italian style gauges.

I got to the point of fitting an AJP V8 with T5 box and short tail housing. It's lighter than the Lotus 4 pot and puts out over 400bhp depending on tune. It's a flat plane crank engine so sounds more Italian V8 than worbling yank.

The engine needs later spec internals but when done it's mighty powerful. It can be included.

There's a photo showing the car on its alloys before I took it off the road, I don't have the wheels anymore, just standard rims.

It comes with a Carcoon to keep the interior perfect.

Also includes the standard box with a £1200 rebuild bill.

You could just go with a standard Lotus engine and fit another diff, everything else is there.

You can email me to discuss further. I would like someone to take it on and do it justice. My big loss. It's been a bit sudden, but I have to make this hard choice.

Camyug - With the money you've spent on the car, seriously try to keep it. Unless you genuinely can't find or afford somewhere dry to store it.

By selling it you'll only realise a large financial loss.

Best wishes,

Dr G

Thanks for the best wishes but I don't have a sensible option.

I could find somewhere else to store it, but wouldn't be here to finish it nor enjoy it.

The move is initially half permanent, then fully permanent, if you follow.

Can't use a right hooker abroad either. I'm not moving to Oz.

I have to sell my off road racer too, how about 450bhp and 20" of suspension travel and acceleration well under 3 secs to 60mph on the rough, 120mph off road will make your cheeks rosey!

Anybody fancy another dimension to their motorsport?

Ebay are a bunch of arse.

Software robot removed my auction because I included the words 'Rolls Royce' in the title, against 'spamming policy' apparently, they just wiped it out, no opportunity to edit, no contact, even though the car has been retrimmed by an ex Roll Royce employee.

So back on under new item number: 120083691451

Sorry, but that was out of my control.

I don't think they're going to like some of the wording in the small text at the top of the description.....

Well, prudish American morality rules again.

'Dumb arse' is apparently really offensive.

The software robot wiped it again.

There are plenty of mobile phone accessories being sold using a photo of a busty babe.

Right, back on later, this time I will be using a collection of words including 'Arsenal', 'Fokker', and 'Cockles'.
