Something we keep getting asked at the NEC shows, by visitors keen to know more about us and follow up after the show, is if we have a flyer or business card with our details on it. And we don't. So I end up scribbling our website onto a scrap of paper, and promising myself that, by the time of the next show, we should have something better.

So, just for once, I'm actually going to try and sort this before the Resto Show, rather than feeling frustrated when we get there.

Now, I'm no graphic designer, so I've just thrown together a first effort as below:



This is big enough to fit 4 of them on a piece of A4.

First question is, I suppose, is it better to have something really simple like this, or would a more substantial leaflet (e.g. something that would be A4 sized and then folded up to 1/3 size), with more information, be better?

Any suggestions on the text? I wanted to keep it very brief to avoid the text ending up too small.

If anyone reckons they've got more design flair than I do (not hard) I'd be delighted for them to have a go!

Looks like a pretty good start to me - well done for the initiative.

May I suggest that you mention that we have our own stand at the NEC Classic Car Show and the Restoration Show - a great place to meet up with like minded people and view our and other cars.

The only comment is the 2nd web address is incorrect.

Were you thinking of just home printing these, or getting them done by someone like vistaprint?
I would maybe go A5 for size.

I like it and agree worthwhile, it was lacking, particularly for the NEC shows, but also at smaller 'general' classic car events / runs, where likewise, bits of random paper have been used for enquiring persons. As described the 'Sunbeam' could be argued to fit the definition, and we did start to open up to Esprits, nothing wrong with either of those tagging along, but I think specifically mentioning the Elite, Eclat and Excel gives the clarity on our primary focus.

We certainly need something for the show.
If you do add anything about show attendance, we should keep it general so they don't go out of date.
My vote would be A5 and I'd go with some high street printing, so it has a little more "substance"

What are the latest rules on using the Lotus logo? Aren't they a bit funny about it these days, or is that just for business/commercial ventures? Wouldn't want anybody to get in trouble.

Well, we’ve had no trouble so far, although we’ve not printed stuff before. I reckon we keep using it until they complain, plenty of clubs do similar. If they get in touch, deal with it then - easier to ask forgiveness than permission! Besides, we aren’t using it for profit, which makes a difference.

May I suggest we also print some Business card size with just the three cars and Forum address, easier to put in your pocket than an A4.
Interested persons can easily access the A4 sheet with description as a Forum page.

U do hope that mere visitors are restricted to be able to post comments, I believe we still have a password vetting procedure and post controllers.
Other Forums end up with non-manageable rubbish comments making the forum not worth reading.

I appreciate the flier initiative.
