Interior leather colours

Post by Zaphod »

Just wondering if there was a list of the colours used for the leather in the excel, and who else used the same colours.. I need to get some recolouring dye to sort my seats and one door card out and if these colours were shared with some else using the same hides then that would make life easy rather than getting it matched by sending a sample

I have just finished a complete restoration of my interior.
I had furniture clinic match the original colour from a sample of leather I sent them taken from under the rear seat that had no wear or exposure to sunlight.

If it is the beige colour you are after, I may have some spare colourant, if that's any use to you?

The closest match for the blue leather you will find is a Mercedes colour. It was not easy getting a suitable leather here in Germany. It seems that the original leather was by Conolly, who are, of course, no longer in business. Even the grain of the Mercedes leather is a good match (although it is very slightly coarser).

That might be the one I am after, assuming its the light cream/beige colour? If that is the case I could just ring them and ask for the same as you had, I need to do at the least a door cards and the drivers seat, but I suspect the rest will show as disclouroed with age once those are done so it could well need all of it!

Yes, it is the light cream / beige colour I've used.

Their ultraclean does a pretty good job of bringing back the original colour, just depends how bad yours is.

I've tried to post some pictures for you to see the colour and results without success, images don't seem to paste into the reply window.
If someone can explain how to do this, I'll post some images for you.
