A lot of Elites for sale right now

Post by TrevorK »

There seems to be an unusually high number of Elites being advertised now. See below.

This one looks particularly nice.

This needs a little work 😉

Another decent-looking one.

A project that's been for sale for a while.

Another S2 with some strange fittings on the bodywork that's also been for sale for a while by the same seller.

And this very nice one.

It appears to me that asking prices have risen since last summer. I'm not sure whether that has been reflected in the a dual selling prices.
What car is that?

Yeah, I noticed that in March when I was putting together the list of cars currently for sale, for the Resto Show. Usually Excels comfortably outnumber Elites + Eclats combined, this year there were I think more Elites than Excels.
"Farmer" Richard

1990 Lotus Excel SE (Lilith)
2022 MG MG5 EV (not due to be a classic for quite a few years...)
2011 Nissan Leaf (Ragly - EV pioneer, must be due to be a classic one day)

As we know the asking prices and realistic selling prices can be worlds apart. The one that sold for £8500 is considerably nicer than the one with the delusional asking price of £20,500. Unfortunately sentimental value cannot be added onto market value to reach a sale. I do like the “terrible condition” description of the true barn find one, you’ve got to appreciate an honest description 😄.
The last silver one looks to be an excellent one and exceptional value.

If high prices are not used in the first instance, I feel the breakers will jump in .

An engine alone can worth upto 4k.

I've noticed this too. If only I had more garage space...
