éclat/Elite manual steering rack oil quantity

I’ve stripped and reassembled my rack as the bush on the left end of the rack had disintegrated into a thousand pieces.
Gators were also split, so almost no oil in there. So the question is how much oil to fill it with?

There's nothing in service manual. Not surprising really.

A quick Google came up with a link to a moggy minor forum. Loads of discussion,with some saying use Molly grease instead, but around 10 fluid ounces of oil seems the going rate for a moggy.

Alternatively, give Killy Clinton a call. I'm sure they will know best option.

I did a fair bit more research and based on some info about Ford racks (it’s basically a Mk1 Capri rack) and from Esprit owners of cars with basically the same rack
I came up with filling it with around 500ml of Ep140.
Simply fitted left hand gaitor. Stood rack up on end and poured oil in from pinion end.

The rack also seems to be basically the same in the DeLorean.

A supplier for DeLorean has had the bushes that disintegrate made in delrin, a much better material.

I've just bought 500g of semi fluid grease - I was going to use it all when I build my hybrid Elite/Esprit rack, so 500ml will be fine I think.
