I have a 78/9 éclat with the electric mirrors.
They have the chrome base and a rather faded body. Were these originally dark grey or black?

Re: éclat door mirror colour
If they are the Autosafe mirrors I've always thought they were black. I'll be using some sort of "back to black" product on mine. I've got mine dismantled at the moment - I'll have a look inside them to see if it's more obvious.

Mine look satin black, but I can’t be sure they have not had some paint a some stage ( but unlikely)

The top of mine are faded to light grey, the lower half is dark grey- but this could be faded from black.
Satin black would make sense to match the bumpers and sills.
Will investigate products to turn them black again.
