Re: Valve Shims
To ensure the shims have no dimples from previous use I hone them on a diamond sharpening block, then measure the final thickness.

Re: Valve Shims
OK, I'm (finally!) done with re-shimming my valves after the camshaft replacement. So the library is available for whoever needs it next.
I've added a fair few more in (I had to buy some used ones from Lotusbits, since not all the sizes I needed were in there). I've also stuck bits of post-it with the sizes on every one. These are in mm, because my feeler gauges are metric, so apologies to anyone who prefers to work in thou! DO NOT take those sizes as gospel, always best to check, everyone's vernier calipers seem to be slightly different, but it should speed the process up a little.

I'm giving my car a bit of a refurb which includes the valve clearances so I'd be really grateful to receive the shim library - It seems that all my clearances are on the low side. I've sent you a PM with my address, hope that's OK.
Many thanks!
Martin.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't plan to come to the NEC - too much to do

Re: Valve Shims
Hello Martin, if you care to let me know the size of any you are missing,(mm or thou), I will check my stock to see if I can help, then swap one for one plus postage. Good luck, Jeff.

Re: Valve Shims
Sorry Martin, just read back a way and realized you're already sorted, so you could pass my offer on to the next library borrower. Jeff.

Re: Valve Shims
Thanks Jeff,
Actually I ordered the shims I needed from QED Motorsport just yesterday. This amounted to 8 shims. But thank you for the kind offer.
Cheers, Martin.

Re: Valve Shims
Hi Martin, I've got to pull the head off my Excel to re-do the valve seats, if you're finished with the shim library would I be able to use it next?
