This is the best one I've seen for sale for a while, even though it needs some light recommissioning work.

That, I like!
Exactly the same trim as my old '76 501. And it was in that condition too. I love the large rockers on the dash ... I hope the roll-over bar spotlight works.
Shame I wrote it off in 1992!

If the mechanical repairs to get the engine running and release the brakes are as straightforward as the seller hints, it seems odd that they don't just pay a garage to do it (if they cannot themselves). It would surely be worth a lot more if it was running and driving.

I have seen this car before at the Cholmondely Pageant of Power in 2015. Looked immaculate having been just restored. I think it featured in one of our calendars.

Cheers, Phil

I'm nearly, almost, maybe, not sure, certain that I saw this car at Lotus in the Peak a couple of years ago. If it is that one its a cracker and the interior was being admired by all.

That was before the urge to fit the biggest gearbox into the smallest space overtook me

Re: Brown Elite on Car & Classic - looks great
I was please to see the brown Elite went for £14,000 + fees. The dark metallic red one, which was surely a better car, only went for around £15k a couple years ago, although I think there'd have been a lot more interest in that one (from me, for starters) if it had been a nice 70s colour instead of a contemporary colour that really didn't suit it.
