i've changed my speedlines for OZs which came with locking nuts, and they looked very similar to ones my boyfriend bought from our local motorist shop for his esprit. i'm sure if you went with the dimensions any motorist place should be able to help even if they have to order them.

cathy

I got a set of "locking" nuts for my OZs (1990 SE) from Halfrauds in March. It helps if you take an original wheel nut in with you so they can check thread and nut size.

I'm working on the principal that since the Lotus wheels only fit on Lotus cars then the sort of person who's likely to need them is probably an enthusiast and not the sort of person who's likely to nick them. And the sort of person who goes around nicking wheels to sell will nick something common, hard to trace and easy to shift. I therefore feel no need to get locking wheelnuts.

Andy,

Whats your address

I've not bother either. I've the OZ wheels with Lotus stamped into one of the spokes. The last car I had with locking wheels nut was broken into. Everything went out of the glove box, including the adaptor to remove the nut.

Oh joy.

The local AA centre removed the said locking wheel nut in around 30 seconds. Socket and a big hammer. After that didn't realy see the point in the expense.

Forgot to mention that bit about the "locking" nuts - there seem to be two types. One where the adaptor first outside the "abnormal" fitting - these are easily removed with a socket, a hammer and some brute force. More secure ones are rounded on the outside and the adaptor fits inside them.
