I have to say I'm none too impressed with 266A for the Excel, the seal itself is fine but it does not fit well. It's not pulling off on mine but the section which fits on the body is not big enough and gets splayed.
Original seals are still available from Lotus so I ordered one for each door today.
Regards
Fred

Sure, the seals will arrive next week.
I've been refurbishing my interior and although the seals from Woolies were good quality I just was not happy with them for the amount of work I'd put in.
I'll post again after I've fitted them.
Regards
Fred
PS I am really impressed with the Woolies leather kits, my magnolia interior is looking superb now.

Did a 120 mile round trip 2day in mine through llangllen over the horse shoe pass ,and after driveing a modern car couldnt help noticeing how excessive the wind noise is ! It must be just as noisy as being on my motorbike
Has anybody got any pics of these extra esprit seals so i can see what they look like
thanks Mark

They must be quite tall to fill the A pillar gap will probably need 15 mm in places to seal ,also are they rubber ? as opposed to sponge do they go down the back edge of the door frame aswell
Is it possible for u to measure the overall height of seal
Also are the esprit frames same diamensions or did u have to cut them down ?
Thanks again Mark

Mark you just have to stretch them a little to get them to fit. I glued them and taped them in position I wanted. They do go down the back of the door.
As for the seals, well although they cost more I'm much happier with the Lotus ones than the Woolies ones for this application. A quick run out yesterday still gives some wind noise but its much better than before.

I've "rejuvinated" my leaky n/s doorseal with some plastic aquarium tube as suggested by Pompey Ice :
"Posted: Thu Mar 22, 2007 15:40 Post subject: door seals
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
if the door seals are intact just flattened with age ,and the bubble hole is say half inch ,buy some soft plastic pipe approximately 3/8 inch and feed this down the hole to expand the seal once more, obviously it would be easiest to remove the seal and maybe use some of the fair ladies talc [or some of your own secret hoard] i did buy some of this pipe once at the aquarium section in a store "
A tip for anyone else trying this is to librally spray the plastic tubing inside and out with "Mr Sheen" household polish. Before I did that I couldn't get the tube more than 8 inches inside the doorseal before it jammed. Using Mr Sheen is less messy than using detergent or talc. powder.

I bought some self adhesive seals from Frosts and applied them to the doors - worked a treat and substantially cheaper than Esprit seals
cuts the windnoise dramatically
