Answer in short is no............................Try the search option on tyres.

The on line manual will have this data or there are several manuals on Ebay at the mo...an essential i would suggest.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LOTUS-EXCEL-MANUA ... 53de2f3825

Theres a point where is the on line manual now?

Many thanks Jerry :D
Will 225/50x15 fit OK on the front or will they scrub on the inner or outer of the wheel arch ?
I do not want to go for 205 & lower the car due to speed humps around my area !!
Kind regards

Some owners using 225/50*15 have experienced problems with tyres fouling the inner wheel arch on full lock. If you don't want to go the usual 205/50*15 route (because they lower the car) why not try 205/55*15s? These will maintain (in fact, fractionally raise) ride height. I believe this is an option suggested by the factory at one point.

I was all set to fit 205/55 to the front of my car until I did some checking and concluded they would foul on full lock in the same way that 225/50 did on mine. It's all down to the sidewall height. ie. 225/50 have the same sidewall height as 205/55.

I think 205/50 is the size the factory suggested using.

At the moment I have 205/50 front and 225/50 rear

Come on Jerry...you know bigger is not necessarily better! (and my wife should know.. )

375's would be good for bragging rights only! 8)

Esprit weight distribution and engine torque is very un Excel-like.

It's all to do with relative proportions you know.

The Clan has 205/50/13 on the back but because its only about 4ft wide they look MASSIVE (and cool) 8)

Personally, I've been happy with the 205/50 set up I adopted when my 215/50s wore out. I didn't notice the 5mm reduction in ride height (this is roughly the same as the difference between a new tyre and a well worn tyre!). The cheapo Nankangs I tried at first wore out quickly on the rear (otherwise they were fine) but the Dunlop SP Sports I've replaced them with are just as good and wearing better.

Hi John :D
Many thanks ,i think i will go for 205/50x15 Toyo Proxes T1-R £65.84 each fitted.
They have very good reviews & friends also say they are better than goodyears & bridgestones.
Very good all rounders.
Cheers
Roger :D
