I don't quite understand the problem you are trying to describe - it sounds like the lock has cleared OK, but the door still won't open ?

My money would be on door beams in that case - the hinge pins seize and turn in the mounting plates, causing elongation of the mounting holes and allow the whole door to drop.

Try lifting the door as you try to open it and see what happens then. Gently pressure on the handle is usually enough to lift it to clear whatever is obstructing it.

If that's not the problem - it's probably the lock mechanism itself. Mike T. has a stock or you can try to find the right BL replacement yourself. It is possible to modify a Triumph rear door latch to work but somewhere out there in BL land there is a direct replacement (and Mike won't tell anyone what it is!)

Hi,
I can open the door about 1" off the lock it is stuck at the hinge end of the door .
My lad got out of the car last night & slammed the door
Now the door will not open.
Cheers Roger

It might be a problem with the check-strap/spring; that's the only "complicated" bit at the hinge end. Have you got a parts diagram to look at the arrangement of the assembly?

Pete
