89MY door mirror glass

Hi Guys -

Does anyone have a spare RH door mirror glass (or complete mirror) for an 89 model year car (the Citroen CX type) that they would be willing to part with? I cracked mine today while investigating the non-functioning electric adjustment mechanism. After rebuilding the whole car it was one of those "I don't believe it" moments

Have a look at http://www.cxbasis.de/ (in the recommended suppliers list) - they can supply several mirror parts from stock. The mirrors are CX series 2.

I've got a mirror assembly, I think it's RH. Have given some parts away. I need to double-check first that my installed mirror is demisting though.

Thanks Angus - I've already looked there and they're only fractionally cheaper than SJ Sportscars; 15 Euro postage!

Cheers Hodders - it's not urgent. How will you check it with it being fairly warm?

Spit on it, probably or meter the wires that connect to the back of it.

The only thing I could think of was an infra-red thermometer, but spitting on it will do

AFAIK you only need two mirrors for MOT and type approval.

I forgot about this. So I just checked it, and indeed my RH door mirror was not demisting (no voltage, open circuit).
So I fitted my spare, which is working and demisting. Thanks Pete!

If you want the otherwise good one, for the purposes of looking in and passing MoT's, then PM me your address.
PS photo is to check that it's the correct mirror type and yes, the two wires should each have a male connector. One snapped in removing it, that isn't the problem, one of the demisting lanes is probably open.
