mmm, not prepared to have my car hostage in the NEC for four days and can't spare the time anyway, as you pointed out, it's quite a commitment.

Hi guys - just having a prowl - I didn't know about this show, so that's fortuitous
If I come down to the show, I'll come over and say hello
my baby Linford
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... 73525fe0cf
has just re-surfaced after almost a decade under a sheet and I'm now full of enthusiasm again.
I've owned it for exactly 25 years.
MOT'd a few weeks ago
New Cam-belt and tensioner tomorrow, Aldon Ignitor planned - checking out leather restoration companies -
oh God, what have I started?

Welcome Tim - looks like a lovely Eclat. Any chance you'd consider putting on show at the NEC next year ?

Never say never. Certainly feel free to ask next year. A bit of me would love to.
I'd like to sort out the headlining first and the only quotation i've had was prohibitive.
I know there have been some posts about DIY but I don't think I'm up to it.
But thanks for the complement anyway and look forward to saying Hi at the show

Mike Taylor has fitted a replacement re sprayed front bumper to my car. The old bumper had loads of cracks and splits in the paint. New one looks great. I spoke to Mike at the restoration show and three days later I had a call to say the bumper was ready to fit. Got to Lotusbits yesterday ay 3.45 and 2 hours later the job was done - perfect colour match. So now ready for the NEC :D

Angus - Dave at Lotusbits says if you need any photos for the show he can print some and bring them on Thursday when he brings two Esprit for the Staffs stand.
Cheers, Phil

I think the stand is pretty well sorted - but will need to see what happens when we move things around to accomodate the "special" Esprit that Bob wants to show on the Club Lotus stand.

Hell's teeth Alan ! I can't believe you let those birds sit on your motor !

Only last week I had a blazing row with Cheryl Cole when I came out of the house early one frosty morning to find her writhing on the bonnet of my Excel. God knows how long she'd been there but I noticed her lips were an exact match for the Pacific Blue A68 coachwork.

I'd just like to say a huge THANKYOU! to everyone who helped out with the stand this year - Alan, Phil, Brian, Tam, Craig, Shannon, Luke and, of course, the LotusBits team - Mike T., Dave, Ben, Ali - who brought along a lovely collection of rusty bits & shiny bits so we could show potential buyers the things to check for.

Very busy three days again this year with lots of interest from former & potential owners, and a fair number of people declaring cars we didn't know about - I think we need to revise the number on the road upwards to about 300 now.

Disappointing that more forum members didn't come along to say hello though - you missed a fantastic event - 4 halls of classic motors, 2 halls of classic bikes, restoration theatre, Wheeler Dealers challenge, Sporting Bears dream rides and the Top Gear MPH "we hate cars so we chop them up" & cheese show in another hall. Brian's restoration of M55 is beautiful (in spite of the steering wheel badge ;) and worth spending an hour or two just playing "spot the difference".

Our "live" F1 coverage went down well too except with those who were trying to avoid the result. (looking forward to next year with the Black & Gold cars whatever they're called).

I've put in a booking form for next year - and asked for space for 8 cars - 2 Elites, 2 Eclats, 2 Excels, M55 and the Elite coupe perhaps ? Think of it as a dry run for the 30th birthday party at which we will need one Excel from every year of production.

Great stand guys, the show was excellent this year, never enough time to see everything, loved the Autojumble!!

Hi to Alan and the folks from Lotus Bits thanks for the advice on Windscreen sounds like a new windscreen eventually

Great to see all the Lotus stands together or in the same hall anyway (LDC)
Only car missing from the show was an Elan M100, not one in sight anywhere
Or did I miss it?

I bought an Air Dry which is in the car sucking up all the moisture, works but think I need another 6 for it to work better
Also bought some Gliptone which will have to join the things to do list, maybe after winter.
blast from the past!

Towards the end of the show, someone was roaming around filming interviews and stands with a little handheld camera : http://www.winkball.com/walls/nDwTNv826 ... show-2010/

Excel content is on Page 11 - I need a haircut and more exercise.
