90 Excel SE, 17" Alloys, 325mm brakes, AVO Kit, Leather!
Reluctantly, my 16 year partnership with my Excel has to come to an end. I just don't have the space or the time to drive her any more so I'm hoping she'll find a new caring home. She just flew through an MOT with flying colours so can be driven away.
The good bits:
New MOT
Compomotive MX 17" alloys (set of 5, custom made to fit) with good Toyo T1-S and T1-R 215/40x17 tyres. These cost £1200 new!
AVO Coilover shocks, adjustable height and damping, 25% uprated springs. Kit from LotusBits, only done a few miles since fitted, £660 new
325x26mm Front brakes with 4 pot HiSpec calipers. (yes, 325mm, stop yesterday, nearly new and with a new spare set of discs too) £900+
Full leather interior, very tidy with no rips or tears.
Polybushed front suspension & new ball joints - recently done.
Recent radiator & A/C Condensor (only few miles since fitted)
Recent recon Water pump
Recent Cam Belt
Amazing stereo - installed discretely, pioneer component speakers in front, 6x9's rear (see pics), pioneer head unit, two Phillips amps in boot, Kenwood sub set into spare wheel well (spare still fits), equaliser fitted in the place where handbook would be! Cost £1000+
Braided brake hoses
Stainless rear seatbelt brackets
Stainless double S exhaust and recent original Lotus downpipe.
The engine has always had top quality oil (Mobil 1 15/50 or Castrol RS 10/60), changed every 6000 miles. Mileage is about 150k, but she had a very easy life. Most of the mileage was from my 140 mile a day motorway commute! Compressions were all around 200psi when last checked!
HID headlight kit - awesome, temporarily removed for MOT but easily refitted in minutes
Gearbox is as sweet and quiet as new.
Adjustable rear suspension top links (camber adjust).
The tlc she needs:
The diff whines a bit, not terrible & driveable (the filler worked loose and ran low on oil before I noticed - I have an excellent second hand diff that i haven't had time to fit which I'll include in the sale)
A pioneer CD muliplayer, a few quid from ebay, the last one drowned when water ran from the spoiler into the boot as I opened it!
The headlining has drooped
The lacquer has peeled on the top half of the car, so some paintwork tidying is needed.
Pic links are here .. Note that the passenger mirror has been fixed and has a new alloy turret fitted since the pics were taken.

The break-up value with all the good bits is probably approaching £3000 but I'd rather not break, hence putting her through the MOT!
Offers around £2500 seems like a reasonable starting point for a solid car, with new MOT and all the goodies above?
If you're considering fuel injecting her, we can chat offline about that, there's an option of an injection kit available too.
Any questions, just ask here, drop me an email on steve.coule@btinternet.com or give me a call on 07833 438569
Loads of spares for sale to follow....
Steve
Things I forgot ..
The door beams are solid, I removed the door trim panels to check. I waxolyed them many years ago and whilst they could do with another coat now, it protected them well.

Looks a nice motor Steve! Even though the mileage is highish at £2.5K it's cheap! Rareity value??

I'm trying to avoid the ebay tyre kickers, so if someone from here turns up with £2,500, the deal is done. I guarantee you'll be braking for fun on the way home just to feel how well she stops! Massive spec for the money.

I'd whack it on Pistonheads too - I've seen a few members asking about Excels recently and can "encourage" them to have a look.
