Hello all,
I've been to-ing and fro-ing with Ken about his Eclat, personally I'd rather an Eclat than an Excel due to having had to be a teenager in the 80s I recall how dismal it all was, wheras I've a vague recollection of the 70s being a time of hairy daftness, disco and much more fun.
So in order to fund buying and sorting his Eclat who'd like to buy my Excel? Since buying it I've:
Done the valve clearances,
Done the Camcover gaskets,
Done the Cambelt,
Done the new radiator,
Done the usual service stuff, coil, leads, cap, rotor arm, plugs, oil filter, oil, antifreeze, any hoses that looked gumbah,
Oh yeah, the fuel pump is now a modern contactless one, and the fuel line is braided stainless in a position where it can be easily checked and not foul the propshaft and break like the old one.
The only thing left, which I'll be doing shortly anyhow is to do the diff seals, then it's all sorted. I've the fancy interior that I've not installed yet, that can be up to you to do.
So, what do you think? £2,500 will mean I'm out of pocket but will have enough to Eclat my life, then you can make your own mind up on the interior and offer me more if you fancy it.
It is now a sorted example which will offer a heck of a load of fun, I can confirm before I bought it it has had a front suspension rebuild, polybushed, Protech shocks, a reconditioned steering rack, loads of other stuff too.
It still looks the same as the previous advert too,

Excuse the laconic advert, I really like the car so I'm not in any need, rush or desparation, but I also like the Eclat, so which do I prefer? There's only one way to find out....
Cheers,
Sam

What colour is the Eclat?
My all time favourite Eclat colour is White .....Yellow is a close second.

Erm,
I like Elites too, but I'm more of a fastback person, and anyhow, I've told Ken that if I can sell mine I'll be going to seriously look at his, it is however red, now who'd want a red car?
I mean really, red, for a car colour?
It'd be a relief, At my house are: A volvo estate, blue, another volvo estate, blue, a land rover, blue, a lotus, blue. I don't like blue cars, it's just that they seem to find me, even worse I was going to paint the G15 blue (quite a rare colour in G15s) but realised I couldn't, it'll have to stay yellow till something changes....

Funny you should say that...red cars found me too. Don't tell Jerry (and it was long before he bought his) but I always wanted a Pacific Blue Excel.
A red Micra for the wife and then the red Clan and red Excel found me.
Quite like the red Excel now though (and it's garaged so not pink!) AND TBH I'd rather have a racing green Clan.

Now sold to James, an all round good egg and I hope it serves him well, it was a very enjoyable in the end and it's driving and performance were always excellent, shame it just didn't gel with me! I wouldn't hesitate to get another in the future.
Anyhow, I wish you all the best and will say hello at shows and what-not.
Sorry, no Eclat for me just yet, let's just say this should amuse Peter.....
