Tracking

Post by Doc Si »

I've just had the tracking adjusted. WOW what a difference it has made, she now goes straight stops straight and goes round corners when asked!
The guys at ATS were excellent, they pointed out a few probs underneath the car and were very helpful and admiring of the car.
They also pointed out that one of the tyres, though with plenty of tread, could have been thirty years old and might benefit from replacement.
They said that they would happily put the car up on the ramp for me to have a look any time that they weren't too busy.
Nice guys. :D

Having got the gold car out and about on a decent road the other day, the first time since restoring it, I'm suspecting tracking. Thankfully I don't have to rely upon anybody else for 90% of the adjustment. The only bit I don't have the kit for is the rear. I can check front toe, camber and caster, so once I get my kit back form a mate, I'll have a busy little time dealing with rusted nuts and bolts.

It may not be the tracking but the bushes look OK, it pulls right a little bit when accelerating, but could also be tyres so I'm keen to do tracking first as it may be a no-cost fix.
