Lotus Excel SE 1987 (RHD)

For Sale:

Lotus excel SE for parts,

engine complete but in pieces (yess really complete!) also with w58 Gearbox
its has cloth interior, and has no damage on the body, and its looks very good!

it has a stainless steal exhaust systeem, and everything works,
it has a sunroof, and good as new tyres,

i need to take some new pictures but i only have this one right now,

What was wrong with the engine?
I ask because I owned her for 10 years until about 4 years ago. I sold her to the son of the man who bought her new. I noticed he had her up for sale about a year ago. Why are you breaking it as it was a good tidy unmucked about with car and I thought he would have looked after it as he wasnt short of a bob or two. I imagine they are the new tyres I fitted just before selling her. The colour is Essex blue. The rad is a triple row core I fitted along with the ss exhaust and other bits over the years.

Engine was bad, its need a overhaul, there was a strange sound inside the engine
i think its the crankshaft (the bearings) so thats why i strip down the engine,
and now the owner wants to sell her, so i do my best because the car stands inside my garage,
next to all other lotus cars,

hopefully the car get a good new home (and gets not stipped) but his age is 1986 or 1987?
because this owner has 2 excels, and i dont know wich year the cars comes from..

It is a 1986 Excel .

The badges are only stuck to the front wings and boot lid with a silicone adhesive. Pull fishing line around the outside to cut them off. Underneath is a circle of vinyl which the silicone is stuck to. Peel that off ( using a hot air gun) and all traces of the badges will have gone.
