Window lift channel

Post by Phantasm »

My Excel is rather young and the frames are in decent shape and I'm in the process of keeping them that way. The door impact beams, and power window glass tracks, well, that's another story.

Unless he means the lift channel.

Just to eliminate any confusion :

Image

A001 is the door window frame (metal) and this is the bit we're talking about getting made.
A008 is the glass channel (rubber/felt)
A009 is the lift channel (metal)

Thanks for reading my mind amarshall, Part A009 is what I was referring to. Is that a replaceable part? without replacing the window? Sorry, hghjacking the thread. Feel free to PM me.

Original Lotus channels are in short supply, apart from 2nd hand, as far as I know - but lift channel is a pretty standard part on most cars so it should be possible get something from a modern and adapt it, probably by just cutting it down to size.

S1 Elise uses a similar channel. It might be different dimensions but looks very similar and is bonded onto the side glass in a similar way.
