Hi all,
Just started going through this excel ive recently bought and it needs a whole lot of stuff, so i will probably be on here 1st seeing if anyone has any spare stuff they are willing to sell before I go through the more costly channels. I just got married a few months back and we are still recovering from the cost of that lol. Ive bought this excel at totally the wrong time due to financial constraints but it was just to good to pass up. Unfortunately though due to it sitting for so long the exhaust is rotten and so is the radiator, rear brakes are seized and the springs and shocks dont look to hot either. Im going to strip the calipers and do the seals and sliders as the pistons seem to be okay but im really looking to see if anyone has a radiator they have spare and an exhaust system. I've emailed lotusbits about the stainless steel exhaust they have for sale 2nd hand to see if it will fit a 1990 SE. It needs so much more than this but i need to start here, one back box has actually fell off so you can imagine how loud it sounds lol.
Many Thanks
Tam

Re: Replacement Radiator & exhaust
Your 1990 SE should have a 3 core rad IIRC as opposed to earlier twin core. Be careful which one you chose. Thickness is the obvious tell tail marker to which one you have.
The mounting brackets - if damaged, are therefore different sizes so beware. Not that it happened to me. A recore/repair for me cost me a load of faff driving across to the rad man only to end up paying the same as a replacement from LB. Alternative hot favourite at the moment are imported ali versions - see threads.
Rear boxes are readily available on line but speak to fueltheburn in the forum as he lives your side and has a few contacts.

Re: Replacement Radiator & exhaust
I would definitely look at the alloy radiator from eBay I got mine from there very efficient and a very good price roundabout 190 quid including delivery. For exhaust I went for a customsystem around £600.
