Are you sure you definitely want original mounting rings as the lamp units are hard to find and crap in the dark if the silvering is worn?

I may have some rings if you are certain.

Well you have me unsure now lol,
I have never driven the car and it wasnt until i removed the lights to fix the left pop up motor i realised the lights were knackered. Ive seen a few people have replaced them with land rover defender ones. Is this the prefared route for better lights? I have one brand new cibie light i bought but if they arent very good im open to other options. This is all new to me.

The original light units are fine as long they're in good condition, but they do suffer from rust - not least because the unused sidelight hole, even when the bung is inserted, allows moisture in. It doesn't help that they're metal backed and mostly in a position where moisture can sit on the back.

They're officially obsolete, even from Cibie/Valeo - but I may have a lead on a small stock of compatible units.

As for the Land Rover option - they're actually just standard 7" round headlamps, available for a lot of cars. The benefit is that the modern units use the mirror for focussing rather than the lens so there seems to be less light loss through the lens. They're also plastic mirrors so don't corrode anywhere near as quickly.

I have one brand new head light i managed to source but was unable to find one to match it. If you are able to source a 2nd unit to match it that would be wonderful. Ive spent so much time the last couple of days trying to track one down. Hawaiis0 if you are willing to sell the mounting brackets ill take them. Just pm me the details for how you want me to pay etc

Hi Jerry i did call Lotus bits at the beginning of the week,
Person i spoke with said their stock was quite low and they would need to check and call me back but i haven't had a call back. I will try and call again when i get a minute as i need to check to see if they have a oil pressure sender aswell.

Thanks

Good luck on the pressure sender ..I'm first in the queue when they get one (0-7bar that is)!

I asked for a 2nd hand one or a new one... the 0-7bar are rare ...but can easily get 0- 5 bar or a 0-10 bar off ebay. :(

Ill know to tell them my names Peter and I've got a new mobile number when i call them then haha, only joking of course. I've found a couple that might do the job but i'm holding off until i get the old one removed. If i get something and try it out and it works ill let you know, really don't want to pay almost £100 for the SJ sports car one when you can get them for a firth of that price if you know what one you need. Thanks for the heads up though :-)
