Forgot to mention Angus, I have it on good authority that Barrie Wills (ex DeLorean ex Lotus ex lots of automotive stuff!) will be at the show on Friday. I'm pretty sure he will be popping by the stand.

I hope people are going to come and criticise our wreck (Sorry-project) -being shown for the first time. Please go easy-it's Mrs W.s car, and if you are mean she will either:
1. Cry, or
2. Knock you to the floor.
I'm not joking!
I'll be occupied organising the Allegro stand as usual, but I will be across as much as I can.
Kind regards

John

The Torrey Canyon prize is coming out of retirement. Evidence to follow for the judges to consider.

It was a hectic show, this year, with special guests galore, a lot of interest on Friday and Saturday, and a rev. limiter to fit and door latch to fix. Couldn't have done it without the real heroes - the stand team of Stu, Brian, Isabel, Gill, Dr. Hoops, Ian and, of course, Mike & Dave from LotusBits. Thanks also to new(ish) member Peter for letting us show the 90% complete purple Excite.

From a club perspective it was a success - costs have been covered, more window frames sold (so more cars saved), and lots of people met and helped - but I'm no longer sure how welcome we are. Compared to other clubs we suffered from a lack of space - maybe because I'm always truthful about the number of cars we plan to bring instead of adding 2 or 3 to get extra space and parking passes. It feels like honesty is penalised.

Anyway - on to the photos. Some from Friday to Sunday, and a few I took on Monday morning (always the best day 'cos nobody's worrying about setting up and there's less clutter around). I only got shots from Hall 2, so please add your own to this thread.

And, of course, HUGE THANKS to our special guests : Mike Kimberley, Oliver Winterbottom and Scott Walker, and also to Barrie Wills who popped by since our tea was better than the DeLoreans' ;)

I vote for the other contender!
The Lotus Eclat, a lot like the English Whisky company: comes from Norfolk and better than you are often told it is.
