My cam belt could do with a change and a tensioner refurbishment.
Not a major job, but I'm available if you want.

I am half way through restoring my leather. Can hold off finishing that till March. Both front seats need to come out and mask off the dash etc I am sure I can find some other jobs to do to fill the time. The list on the garage wall seems to get longer....
Cheers, Phil

Could be a good opportunity to do my headlining - currently held in place primarily by the sunroof, and my delightful toddlers have assisted the C-pillar trims in their mission to detach from the car.

I know painting is banned at the show due to fumes, but gluing should be ok shouldn’t it?

Got a hole in the driver’s seat fabric that I could also do if I have time. Or I dismantle it then Heather can demonstrate her far superior sewing skills in fixing!

Hi Richard. Not sure how this works, but I would be happy to possibly offer some help with the roof lining as I recently completed mine - I seem to recall your wife commenting on it on the way into Hethel :D

I did a quilted one with stitched seams on the header and cant rails as per the factory.

I also have some carpets to fit, sun visors to recover and I want to redo the centre rail covering as that was the first piece I did, so not as good as the rest. This could all wait until March if needed.

Heather was most impressed by yours, so any assistance would be very gratefully received!

How it works is you come along to the show any / all of the three days, and we get on with the job, under the curious scrutiny from, and occasional chats with, random visitors to our stand.

Exhibitors get two free entrance tickets per car, so you can be the second ticket for my car any day you come, or if you bring your car to show / work on you get your own two free tickets. There are some free car park passes too, but not always enough to go around.

We’d better hope there is generous space on the stand, as we’ll need room to spread the lining out on the floor.

Some thoughts and suggestions.
For leather restoration and carpets how about getting sponsorship from Woolies and Coverdale, proceeds to Forum funds. that assumes you are using their products.

On this forum we have references for improving water tighteness over window frames, and if you are going to renew leather and carpets you will probably want to include this. Not exactly a showpiece for Lotus engineering, but maybe interesting for other classic owners with water ingress problems.

Good thoughts Dave - yes, I am planning to use Woolies for the headlining, seat fabric too if I do that.

Oddly my car is one that doesn’t suffer much from water leakage, other than a little that collects in the sunroof trim and tips into my lap on the first corner (or the passenger if it’s an RH corner). I’ll check that out while the sunroof trim is removed for the headlining.

We are extremely unlikely to be able to do anything involving solvents of any sort. The rules are fairly tight and the risk assessment and management processes are complicated.

That's if we get a space at all.

We are not allowed to have any commercial presence on the stand at all. Lotusbits staff who show up are only there as owners & enthusiasts. Sponsorship puts us into the commercial category. We are permitted to sell our own merchandise and anything else we do as part of the normal running of the club, but anything else is prohibited and can get us banned from the show.
