I've got to fit the new ones I got from SJ - if you have replaced these, can you offer any hints which might help me.
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Replacing rear lower seatbelt mounts
Use plenty of sealant to seal them to the car otherwise water will seep in through the bolt holes.
Make a note of the fixings order - nut washer bushes etc.
I used a nut spliter in the end.
They are slightly handed as mine had a slight angle on one side

My replacements were stainless steel from SJS so I guess yours will be too?BS6600 wrote:Thanks Hawaiis0,

I never painted mine....but not all stainless grades are completely rust resistant, so painting them is not completely daft either.

One more thing. Make sure you fit the belt release clips the right way round on rebuild. Heard some people get them the wrong way round.
The paint was because I had some to hand

The bolts take some shifting - I used aa reciprocating saw in the end
Cheers, Phil

Re: Replacing rear lower seatbelt mounts
Job now done. I didn't do it myself but the feedback was - not to hard to get the old ones out, the N/S was easy to fit, the O/S was a pig as the alignment of bolt holes was poor.
You collective advice was appreciated by the fitter and hopefully this topic will help someone else in the future.
Thanks again,
Bill

A little late maybe,
but its worth checking the upper brackets as well, my lowers were a bit more degraded as two nuts is all that was left. passed an mot like that!
