Out of interest, did you just say "Please do a rerun of the S2219 Lotus Excel model" or how did you phrase it?
I asked if they had any Lotus Eclat/Excels or could they point me to a stockist.

The better the variety in asking, the less contrived the sudden flurry of interest possibly :)

Reference to the old model number would be good.

A mention of Ollie may be helpful.

OK great, I'll phrase an appropriately differing enquiry and send it off in a week or two.

You can get the Spark Eclat models relatively easily, though sometimes the prices can be a bit on the steep side:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPARK-1975-L ... 4573784846
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lotus-Eclat- ... 4060331297

It's the Excel model that's the rare one.

Meanwhile if you're after an Elite model, you're spoilt for choice it seems....

Just got this via email:

“We have no firm plans for the time being but might reissue some of the models you suggest over the next year or two.
Thanks for your interest
Clive Rigby”

So there is hope!

Happy new year everybody. It will be different!!

Great news that they are at least considering it. All we can do now is keep our fingers crossed, and report back to the forum if/when we see any models (especially the Excel it seems) available.

Happy New Year everyone!

I've also submitted my request for a rerun of their Excel model.

I’ve replied to Clive Rigby pointing out that, in addition to the possibility of an Oliver W commemorative model, the excel is 40 next year, and offering to conduct a survey of members to establish the popularity of different variants and colours.

Cheers, Richard

If anyone's looking for one, there's a reasonably priced Spark Eclat model available at the moment on ebay:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/114623720871

From Hong Kong though so I think you'll end up paying some import duties when it arrives.

My email reply from Spark:

Dear Rob,
Your best bet is probably eBay. We are not likely to re-issue this model in the near future.
Good hunting.
Clive Rigby

Nice reply from Clive, but unfortunately I think we won't be so lucky. 😟

That's disappointing. I think they could make a batch of 50 Elites / Eclats / Excels and they would sell out straight away. Some of the other models Spark make are even more "minority interest" than our cars so they must be used to making small batches. Last week I watched in horror as a 1/43 Alezan Excel model kit went for £161 on ebay! So there is certainly the demand.
