I've just been in touch with the owners of two cars who are offering to attend this year - Colin Pears (who was unable to attend last year) with his immaculate early Elite, and Peter Baker who, together with his grandson Jamie, who have what is believed to be the first Eclat Sprint, with painted livery (rather than decals). I've asked them to register here if they haven't already done so.

I think that Richards wonderful example of an elite would be far more suitable than my mouldy wreck. I will remain as a reserve with either Oggee or possibly my brother in laws elite (who's car I store while he lives in Cyprus) USF***R or even the pre production éclat to support the club. However Richards car always attracts a lot of positive attention.
Oggee would be ideal for the restoration show.
As I indicated in an earlier post, this year it is really important we support Richardw in pushing the elites 45th and also Angus in ensuring that this small but passionate community get represented on this national showcase.

Nothing wrong with a mouldy wreck Ian- let's be honest, Gill's car is by no means a show car. In my experience, people like to see projects-cars "as they are". Besides which, it would be nice to see you on the stand!

Thanks for the kind comments about my Elite. However there are nice cars out there that haven't appeared at the show, and mine had a stint of 3 years (I think) so I'll only bring mine if we can't get a nice Elite along. My own view is that cars either in excellent condition, or that have interesting history, or that are daily drivers should all be eligible. Maybe project cars will have an opportunity at the restoration show?
I'm sure anyone who doesn't bring a car can offer to help on the stand - as last year, if you ask Angus there may be some passes available (after those used for club visitors of course.)

My Excel SE would be happy to join the stand, looking every inch the daily driver it is. At least it can arrive and leave under its own steam now!

That depends what you mean by project car Richard. Gill's car is by no means a show car. It's a somewhat tatty regular driver that is being slowly improved as we use it.

I'd certainly include that in my definition of a daily driver! In general, I'd classify project cars as not normally on the road and to some extent in bits. Only my opinion though!

Hey guys, its Jamie Baker, Pete's (who is a Poulton not a Baker
) grandson, I've finally got round to getting an account on here after browsing as a guest on and off over the last few years! He'd love to volunteer his Eclat Sprint for the show in November, it sounds like a great event. I'm sure a few of you remember seeing us with the car at Castle Combe back in May, and it would be good to show the car to some more people too.

Sorry guys, I'm a little distracted at the moment. Heading into week 4 of recovery from nasty food poisoning bug. Still a bit dependent on codeine to make life bearable. Will deal with NEC issues when I'm fit.
