Unfortunately I don't get Betty sorted this year, like the rear seat belts for Baby.Hasi are still missing beside other details. So we won't make it to UK this year (again ). And we all don't know what the future will bring to us... but if there is any chance that you will come across Germany in saying 200km around, you are happily invited to drive with Betty and change gear as much as you like

This will hopefully convince you, that your choosen way by now is not such a risk. I had the privilege to change the cars a time on daily basis. So it is not only a shadow of remembering.

Two Lotus is just greedy Don!! . Thanks for the kind offer to let me drive your car! It's your observations on the Getrag gearbox that has made me decide to carry on with it. I'm convinced the W58 is easier to fit than I had previously been lead to believe - it just needs some fabrication work on the box and a little on the chassis - no welding! Sorting the clutch actuation is just a matter of finding a suitable arm for the release bearing, allowing the cable to be kept.

Funny you should mention the brakes Angus! Just been in the shed this morning working on those lovely inboard drums!! It is fun . Been building a lathe attachment to enable them to be skimmed.

At the moment I'm determined to keep the original 14" wheels which limits the brake disc diameter quite a bit. I've got some spacers for the front Girling calipers so that I can run ventilated discs though - I've found some off-the-shelf ventilated discs that I can turn into rotors and make my own aluminium bells. I know people have converted to inboard discs at the back so I'll look at that as well later on - really just for convenience of swapping pads etc..
